Holiday Hosting/Party Prep Must-Haves
Forget about the gift-giving and hitting the sales at the right time. Hosting any holiday party can really be the thing taking up most of your time this holiday season. From the right food to the right decor, we want our members to be as prepared as possible. Here are some places where to start for your holiday hosting.
FOOD
You might have the food handled but as a hostess, you want to make it look extra special during the holiday season. This year we are recommending so many adorable and classy-looking dishes to our members who are hostess masters. Our favorites are included in brands like Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn and Anthropologie. Check out the adorable cookie stand below from Potter Barn, display all your sweet treats with this stand, and make it easy for your guests to grab and go. Want to go the extra mile with subtle holiday touches? Take a look at this Dutch oven from Willimas Sonoma that we can’t stop gushing over. I might use it all year if given the chance!
DRINK
Setting up for a fun night includes some fun cocktails/mocktails for your guests. Make it fun and festive with these products that we can’t get enough of! Crate & Barrel has the perfect holiday old-fashioned glass that is great for a classic old-fashioned or an eggnog mixed drink. Do you have a large group? Is your family so big you stopped counting years ago? Then look no further than the Christmas tree glass pitcher from Terrain. Save yourself time and headaches by making big-batch mixed drinks in a flash. Probably one of our favorites though are these classic Santa embossed cocktails from Pottery Barn, they give a great vintage flair with just enough holiday enthusiasm for everyone.
DECOR
So now your edible items are all decorated and presented beautifully, it’s time for the small details to set your party apart. These can be something simple like a table centerpiece, we like this one from Harry and David. Pottery Barn is a usual staple for Strongsuit as well. This year we found some great table runners, especially these adorable name card holders. Our final top picks for decor come from Williams Sonoma where we are suggesting these gorgeous shimmer tabletop trees.
CRAFTS
Finish off your hostess planning by making sure all the little ones have something to keep them busy. If you have some serious energy fiends then we highly recommend an energy-busting activity like this indoor snowball fight set from Amazon. Easy cleanup (literally none) and they get a kick out of the illusion they are having a snowball fight inside. If you have kids who want to be involved in the food prep (but you don’t want sticky hands in your lovely holiday dishes) we recommend this cookie decorating kit from Cheryl’s Cookies, which makes it delicious and fun to keep them occupied. An additional yummy craft that will keep the kids busy is this gorgeous gingerbread house kit from Dylan’s Candy Bar.
Whatever you plan to host this year, we are here to help at Strongsuit. We think of the things you haven’t thought of yet so you don’t have to.
