How to Delegate Back-To-School
After making it through summer, you also managed to make it through the mountain known as back-to-school prep. After organizing childcare, summer camps, and play dates AND trying to find vacation time for yourself, the end of summer can be a huge relief for parents. Unfortunately, for many, back-to-school prep can be quite intimidating when it’s staring you right in the face. The good news is that Strongsuit has been a huge help!
Delegating duties can be hard for parents, especially moms. Here are some great places to start to relieve that mental load Strongsuit helped with this year.
School supplies: Once you get those lists it is a natural urge to start shopping immediately. In our modern age online orders and accessibility to Amazon make this one an easy delegation. Do not be afraid to send these lists off to your Strongsuit MSS and have them at least get you started. Just getting a head start can give you back so much time!
Calendar: This seems like such a simple task but this can easily take time out of your day. By sending your calendar to Strongsuit we can add items to your calendar for you for the ENTIRE school year. Just imagine being able to plan childcare for those teacher in-service days or even realistically plan a family vacation knowing when fall/spring break is.
The best way to tackle the back-to-school mountain is to start small. By offloading the tasks Strongsuit can manage, here are some things you can do on your own you may not have had the time to do.
Closet cleanout: You may have had every intention of organizing those closets this summer but it has yet to happen. By delegating to Strongsuit you just gave yourself the gift of time. Take the opportunity to remove outgrown clothes/shoes. Bonus: If you find specific clothing needs you can still delegate this need to your Strongsuit team!
Revamp School Lunch: The end of summer comes with decision exhaustion so you might have been hodge-podging as best you can in the meal department. If your kids are bringing in their own lunch this is a great time to revamp things they might like. Kids are also more likely to engage when they get a choice. Start the conversation and see if there is something special you can start keeping and prepping to put into their lunch box.
Advice from our MSS
Most of our members have multiple kids, which means multiple school supply lists, needs, and start times. One of the easiest things to offload to our MSS team is your school supplies. MSS Natalie just saw such a huge relief for members by being able to create an Amazon cart for one of her families “I was able to take the time to look at two different school supply lists, create an Amazon order in my member’s cart and then send them any notes, this gave them back hours of time with their family and I love that I can do that for them”.
